I woke up today very thankful to see the words "arrest" and "alleged" in an otherwise gruesome and ominous headline:

Home grown terrorism in the post-9/11 United States is going to change everything when it finally appears.

As well as our importing trouble in the form of Muslim immigrants, Islam in the West has become a magnet for home-grown psychopaths, predators and perverts.
Since the Koran encourages attacking, raping and plundering the infidels, criminals of all descriptions are eager to convert so they can get divine justification for their activities.

He changed some things about the way security experts deal with security (particularly the design of federal buildings), but not the way citizens view their own security. 9/11 changed, it seems, the way airports, airlines and their passengers deal with security, but not the way citizens view their own security outside of airports. I think we'll need the combination -- home grown and post 9/11 -- to see everything change.
